Strengthened cotton threads have been added into the warps and wefts of this piece. Cloud is applied as the framework, filled in with patterns like tiger and characters such as “田”.Similar weaves have been found on the dragon-pattern taquete trim of a cotton robe excavated in Yingpan of Xinjiang. Their designs were clearly inspired by Han-style jin-silk, with imitation of the cloud framework, animal formations and Chinese characters.
