Central and Eastern European Evening held in National Silk Museum

The 3rd China-CEEC Cultural Cooperation Forum was held in Hangzhou from September 21st to 25th. NSM took the benefit from the Culture Forum and invited Assadour Markarov PhD as our curator, who is a Bulgarian artist, curator andeducator in China Academy of Art, to curate this exhibition named as “Silk and Tradition: China and Central & Eastern Europe Contemporary art silk exhibition” lasted from September 19th to 25th.

On September 23rd,the Centraland Eastern European Evening was held in NSM in order to welcomeartists from Central and Eastern Europe as well as showing the stories behindthe exhibits and customs of Central and Eastern Europe to the visitors. The event is greatly supported by Cathaya Group, Department of Sculpture of ChinaAcademy of Art, Zhejiang Provincial Association for friendship with foreign countries, Zhejiang Provincial Association for cultural and artistic exchange and Xiaofeng Bookstore.


Bulgarian ambassador Grigor Porozhanov also attended the activity.



The first session was improvisation performed by artists Maria Ganeva from Bulgariaand Song Chunyang from China.












Assadour Markarov PhD, the curator of the exhibition introduced every exhibit as well as the artists in the exhibition to the visitors.





A series of lecture swere provided by artists, Inguna Levsa from Latvia, Ena Begicevic from Bosnia and Aurelia Mandziuk–Zaj?czkowska from Poland, introducing customs in their countries and their inspirations of creating exhibitis. After the lectures, all the presented artists made a discussion focusing on the culture and art of silk. Dr.Zhao Feng, the director of the China National Silk Museum summed up the views.
