2018-01-06

Northern Dynasties
L137cm;W55cm(2471)
In the middle of the textile sits a deity on the throne with his legs crossed, likely to be Deva from Indian Buddhism. Though it still followed the Chinese tradition to apply dragons and auspicious characters, it reflects close connection with exotic cultures coming through the Silk Road, as the god depicted is from overseas.
