Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.)

L27cm; H15.5cm

There are two main types of tall sole shoes, one with the tall soles shaped like a planter and the other like a horse hoof. This one, at the height of 10 cm, is the first type. The sides of the raised sole are finished with fine white cloth. The face of the shoe is embroidered with flowers in blue silk thread on pink satin ground. This type of shoes is worn with Manchurian dresses and hairdressing known as "flaring wings". (XY)
